Take, Lord, Receive: Prayers and Songs That Inspire

There are many ways to pray and praise...

For the AGSB MBA student, what can be better than a prayer by St. Ignatius of Loyola with music and lyrics and visuals...

What's the difference vs. this version? Compare with this? This is the version linked to the Ignatian site... Here's the original prayer...

St. Ignatius of Loyola

Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty,
my memory, my understanding,
and my entire will,
All I have and call my own.

You have given all to me.
To you, Lord, I return it.

Everything is yours; do with it what you will.
Give me only your love and your grace,
that is enough for me.

Here's another classic Jesuit prayer..

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O Good Jesus, hear me.
Within your wounds hide me.
Permit me not to be separated from you.
From the wicked foe, defend me.
At the hour of my death, call me
and bid me come to you
That with your saints I may praise you
For ever and ever. Amen.

Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Will Ferrell- Learnings from the Storyteller, the Businessman and the Comedian

Will Ferrell, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs have a few things in common: male, fame, wealth, college drop-outs and commencement speakers to Harvard (Will and Bill) and Stanford (Steve) How did they perform? More importantly what can we learn from them?

Watch and learn: Here’s Steve Jobs, the storyteller….

Bill Gates, the businessman…

Are you surprised that Bill’s speech is spliced into at least 5 parts in You tube. (think Windows 7, Windows 8, etc.) Here is Part 2…

Surely, there are other great commencement speakers that are in the same league as Bill and Steve, but we learn more from comparisons with Will Ferrell…

What type of communicator are you now? Are you a Steve, Bill or Will?

What type of communicator do you want to be? Steve, Bill or Will? Why?

QWERTY: Find the Effective Difference

Often, it takes just a few steps to go from ordinary to great and a few more steps to oblivion. These are 2 variations of the same commercial.

This first one, a 30 seconder, was creative but was understood by just a few. This 2nd original and longer 1 minute version, makes it easy to decode the sender's message The 3rd version, which is the most used, which is still playing until today starts with the 40th second of the 2nd, original version. Did you find the effective difference?
